Hi, I’m Christina!
Having previously worked as a housing officer and a former compliance officer, I developed many transferable skills which I now attribute to my role as a professional organiser (including my meticulous approach to paperwork!) Combining this knowledge with a love of creating order, I am a born organiser and I find it thoroughly rewarding to help and encourage others adopt a proactive approach to daily life.
Following my successful 10-year career I decided to travel through South-East Asia. I met some truly inspiring people, many of whom live hand-to-mouth from one day to the next. Our consumerist approach here in the UK presented such a contrast which encouraged me to go through all my belongings once I got home. Deciding what to let go of felt much easier after living out of a rucksack for 8 months! It also inspired me to launch Embrace Your Space.
Prior to starting my business, I gained some practical experience working as an assistant organiser in London for one of the leading names in Professional Organising, Vicky Silverthorn, owner and founder of You Need A Vicky. This allowed me to develop a greater understanding of the techniques that work (as well as the ones that don’t!) and the various approaches that should always be on offer to all clients. There really is no ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to decluttering and organising! I remain a part of her team as a senior organiser and credit my time with her as invaluable in helping me to set up and launch my business.
I am a proud member of APDO (The Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers) and ICD (Institute for Challenging Disorganization) and aim to uphold their professional code of ethics. In addition to this, I hold full, professional indemnity and public liability insurance as well as cyber and data protection. I am also registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office and have a DBS certificate dated within the last 12 months.
